VAUX (Arthur Devaux, known as the Baron de). Famous Duels. Preface by Aurélien Scholl. Paris, Rouveyre & Blond, 1884. In-8, green half-shagreen, decorated ribbed spine, gilt title, gilt fillet, gilt initials ‘CUA’ on the front cover, gilt head, untrimmed, colour illustrations on the cover preserved (contemporary binding). Joints brittle and split; cap bands and raised bands rubbed. First edition illustrated with 16 plates printed separately on laid paper. Print run of 650 copies; no. 113 of 600 on laid paper. Stamps from the library of the Cercle de l’Union Artistique. Interior in good condition.
