Complete collection of *Historical Pictures of the French Revolution*, comprising one hundred and thirteen instalments, in three volumes [...] Paris, Auber, printed by Didot the Elder, and completed by Charles, Year XIII – 1804. 3 folio volumes, with 224 engraved plates (including 3 frontispieces by Copia and Malapeau after Fragonard the Younger, 153 views of revolutionary events, two paintings – on the value of assignats; on the new concordat constituencies – and 66 portraits in the ‘noire’ style by Le Vachez in engraved frames, with captions at the bottom), marine-coloured half-shagreen with morocco trim, smooth spines, red title labels (J.-M. Durand). Scattered foxing in vol. II. ‘Imperial’ edition (almost definitive), a completely revised version of this famous iconographic series on the Revolution, regularly updated since 1791 to reflect political developments.
