2 vols. in-8, X-454-[2] pp. and 443-[1]-8 pp. (catalogue), frontispiece in each volume, green half-shagreen with corner pieces, ribbed spine decorated with a Vendée heart, spine and cover preserved (modern binding). Waterstains.

A former émigré from Anjou of Irish origin, Viscount Walsh served successively as the King’s Commissioner to the Mint and Director of the Post Office for the city of Nantes during the Restoration. A prolific writer, *Lettres vendéennes* is his first work. It provides a detailed account of the events that took place in the Vendée during the Revolution and in 1815. (Lemière, p. 217.)
