An unpublished manuscript in verse by Louis Boisson de Quincy, comprising a Prelude, a Sonnet, a Supplement or Quatrain, a Pot-pourri, and a mixed elegy on the occasion of the death of Emperor Joseph II, of glorious memory, on 20 February 1790, or ‘The Glory of Joseph II Perpetuated in his Most Worthy Successor Pierre-Léopold’, etc. etc., an Epitaph for Joseph II sent by him from the Elysian Fields, a Comparison of Emperor Joseph II, of glorious memory, with His Majesty Pierre-Léopold, his brother and worthy successor; a sonnet; a sonnet on the occasion of the satirical verses composed in Brabant in secret concerning and following the death of Joseph II; and a reply by Joseph II sent from the Champs-Élysées in the form of a sonnet. Adjutant-Commander Boisson de Quincy is also the author of numerous occasional poems on the Bonapartes. He died in 1814.
