THIEBAULT (Paul). Memoirs of General Baron Thiébault, published under the auspices of his daughter, Mlle Claire Thiébault, based on the original manuscript by Fernand Calmettes. Paris, Plon, 1894–1895. 5 vols. in-8, brown half-shagreen, decorated ribbed spine, untrimmed (contemporary binding) Tulard, 1411. Memoirs unusual in their style of writing, which enjoyed tremendous success despite certain biases. 7 plates, including a different frontispiece in each volume; mention of the sixth edition in Volume I (1769–1795), third edition in Volume II (1795–1799); first edition of Volumes III (1799–1806), IV (1806–1813) and V (1813–1820).
