Description
[CANOSA (Antonio Capece Minutolo, Prince of)]. *I Piffari di montagna*, or *An Impromptu Account by an Impartial Citizen on the Conspiracy of the Prince of Canosa and on the Carbonari*. A Critical Letter Addressed to the Editor of the Foglio letterario di Londra, corrected and expanded. This new edition includes two further pamphlets on a similar subject. Dublin, October 1821.
In-8, [4]-216 pp., green kid leather, plain spine decorated with gilt fillets, garlands and intertwined crowns, gilt garland border on the covers (contemporary binding). Some leather missing from the edges, but a fine copy.
A rare edition bearing a fictitious Dublin address, probably printed in Lucca. Written in exile by Antonio Capece Minutolo (1768–1838), a former Neapolitan minister, it is the first in a series of counter-revolutionary pamphlets defending the policies of Queen Marie-Caroline and denouncing the liberal ideas stemming from the Revolution.
