JOUBERT & MORNAND (F.). A Historical, Political and Picturesque Survey of Turkey and Russia. Paris, Paulin and Le Chevalier, 1854. Quarto, brown half-basane, plain spine with decoration (contemporary binding). A work published on the occasion of the War in the East between the Ottoman and Russian empires. The illustrations consist of numerous black-and-white figures within the text, a colour map, two double-page plates inserted separately (the island and harbour of Kronstadt, the harbour and roadstead of Sevastopol), and four lithographed plates as inserts (the Battle of the Alma, the Battle of Inkermann, the Battle of Traktir, the capture of Malakoff and Sevastopol). A fine copy. Binding rubbed, marginal water damage to the lithographs.
