In-12, (44)-56-(3) pp., grained havana calfskin, decorated ribbed spine, title label in red morocco (contemporary binding) First edition. A scathing pamphlet in verse, dedicated to Cardinal de Richelieu against his detractors, by Antoine Picot, Grand Master of Waters and Forests in Languedoc; his name appears on the privilege. This work was reprinted in 1649 as a ‘mazarinade’, without the dedicatory epistle and under the title *Raillerie universelle*, dedicated to the curious of the day. Printer’s mark on the title page.
