NEIGRE (Lieutenant-General). Journal of the artillery operations during the siege of the citadel of Antwerp, which surrendered on 23 December 1832 to the French army under the command of Marshal Count Gérard. Paris, Imprimerie Royale, 1833. Quarto (300 x 235 mm), (4)-138 pp. 2 fold-out maps, red long-grain morocco, wide border of gilded and blind-stamped fillets and serrated scrolls adorning the covers, large laurel-wreathed and crowned monogram in the centre, decorated ribbed spine, interior lace, gilt edges, blue silk endpapers (contemporary binding) Two large folded maps at the end. A fine copy in red morocco bearing the cipher of Ferdinand Philippe d’Orléans, eldest son of King Louis-Philippe (1810–1842), who took part in the military operations covered in this volume. A small scratch on the front cover.
