Rouen, Lemonnyer, 1881. 4 vols. in-4, fawn half-maroquin, smooth spine finely decorated, title and volume numbers gilt, gilt fillet on the covers, gilt head, covers (stained) preserved. Copy entirely mounted on tabs. The illustrations comprise 4 title pages in engraved frames, 4 frontispieces, 1 portrait of the author in a medallion and 102 intaglio engravings by Le Barbier, Moreau the Younger and Saint-Quentin, all included in the pagination. A faithful reproduction of the 1773 edition. Total print run of 1,000 copies; one of the 50 head copies with a triple suite (black, bistre and sanguine) on Japanese and Chinese paper.
