MOULINET (Nicolas Le). Witty Epigrams and Amusing Tales. Paris, J. Millot [Techener, ‘Les Joyeusetés’ series], n.d. [1829]. In-12, bronze-green long-grain half-maroquin with corner pieces, spine with gold-threaded raised bands, gilt title (Thouvenin). Illustrated engraved frontispiece title. Reprint of the 1620 Millot edition by Techener. Waterstains. Ex-libris J.M. Nicolas Le Moulinet (born in Sées at the end of the 16th century, died before 1625), writer, lawyer and actor; from an old family of Alençon and a lawyer at the Parliament of Rouen, he was the author of several novels as well as these *Facétieux devis et plaisants contes*, a collection of humorous stories which enjoyed some success. His name was also adopted by Charles Sorel, who published a new version of his *Francion* in 1633 under the pseudonym ‘Nicolas de Moulinet, Sieur du Parc’.
