Square 12mo, blue half-maroquin with corner pieces, ribbed spine, title and author’s name in gold, date at the foot, covers preserved, untrimmed copy (Huser). First edition, printed in a small run. Covers bearing the address of Ledoyen, bookseller in Paris, 1845. Along with Honoré de Balzac’s *Traité de la vie élégante* (1830), this work is one of the great French texts devoted to dandyism.
