In-12, black half-maroquin with corner pieces, mosaic spine featuring two pieces of orange calfskin decorated with gilt fleurons, gilt title and author’s name, gilt head, covers preserved (contemporary binding) Includes a facsimile of a portrait and an autograph letter by J. Barbey d’Aurevilly on a double leaf. A copy from the standard print run bearing a monogram stamp designed by Léon Bloy on the margin, following seven copies printed on Holland paper. Gilded edges rubbed.
