BARBEY d'AUREVILLY (Jules). Mémoranda. Paris, published by Rouveyre and G. Blond, 1883. In-12, black half-maroquin with corner pieces, mosaic spine featuring two pieces of orange calfskin decorated with gilt fleurons, gilt title and author’s name, gilt head, covers and spine preserved, untrimmed copy (contemporary binding). Partly original edition, bringing together the *Mémorandum de Caen*, written and printed in a small print run in 1856, and the *Mémorandum de Port-Vendres*, written in 1858. Printed in a small print run. Copy on Holland paper, following 10 copies on China paper and 50 on Japan paper. Frontispiece portrait etched by Albot. Preface by Paul Bourget. Copy belonging to Joséphin PÉLADAN, bearing his signature ‘Joséphin Péladan ex dono auctoris’ on the front cover. Jules Barbey d’Aurevilly wrote the preface to Péladan’s first novel, *Le Vice suprême*, in 1884. Edges rubbed. Rare. (Vicaire I, 297).
