In-12, (2)-234 pp. Contemporary fawn half-basane, spine with four small raised bands, gilt fleurons, title labels. A fantastical tale featuring E. T. A. Hoffmann during a trip to Paris in 1793 at the height of the Reign of Terror. According to Claude Schopp, this story was recounted to Dumas by Charles Nodier. The half-title page is missing.
