A Michel Lévy edition of this somewhat overlooked novel by Alexandre Dumas, which is nevertheless one of his most engaging works: a densely plotted Parisian novel, full of twists and turns set in the final years of Charles X’s reign; this is Dumas’s *Les Mystères de Paris*. The second part (Salvator) is rather difficult to find. There is a small tear at the foot of one side. The spines of the Salvator volumes have darkened uniformly.
