FEYDAU (Ernest). Fanny. Study. Paris, Amyot, undated [1858]. In-12 Bradel format, blue half-cloth with corner pieces, title label, floral motif and double gilt bands on the spine, covers preserved (see Champs). A rare first edition of this novel written by Ernest Feydeau (1821–1873), archaeologist and writer, father of Georges. A few scattered foxing spots, otherwise a very fine copy, enhanced by a letter from the author addressed to the Société des chemins de fer du Nord, Paris, 31 March [18]69 (he needs to “send to Brussels and London for the Revue Internationale, which [he] edits, Mr E. Sanderson, editor”).
