In-8, pale blond glazed calfskin, decorated ribbed spine, title label in light green morocco, date at the tail, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, gilt edges (Gucheu, bookbinder in Tours). Portrait on the frontispiece. Foxing in places. Third revised and expanded edition. The second edition, revised and expanded, Paris, Brissot-Thivars, 1828, does not differ greatly from the first, but this one is entirely new, and the notes—which fill no fewer than 96 pages in small type—contain a valuable collection of original documents relating to Molière.
