FRANCE (Anatole). Letter from Mr Anatole France to Mr P.-L. C., dated 26 August 1911. n.p. [Paris], n.p. [Jacques Lion], 1930. Small quarto volume comprising [1] leaf, the reverse side of which contains the print run details; 4 pages printed in facsimile on the front side only and [1] blank leaf; cover in heavy card. Facsimile reproduction by Jacques Lion of this letter addressed to Paul-Louis Couchoud. First edition, limited to 10 copies on fine antique laid paper, all not for sale, numbered and certified by the printer. This copy, ‘which is number 9, was printed especially for Mr Armand Weill, who knows Anatole France and Racine so well’ (Talvart and Place no. 110). A fine copy featuring an article from *Le Figaro* announcing, in 1934, the publication of an unpublished work by France, and the typescript of a letter signed by France to Charavay from 1871, bearing a collector’s stamp reading ‘Bibliothèque Jacques Lion, Anatole France Collection’. Extremely rare.
