In-8, full grey and black checkered shagreen binding, smooth spine with title embossed in cold foil, illustrated filled cover and spine preserved, paper endpapers, untrimmed, matching edged slipcase (modern binding), 206 pages. First edition. A posthumous work by Georges Bataille, intended as a sequel to *Madame Edwarda* and, according to the author’s plan, to form part of a tetralogy under the general title *Divinus Deus*. 1/50 copies, numbered on white Lana vellum, the only large-format paper used. In an unsigned, rather attractive binding, the copy is uncut.
