LESIEUR (Pierre) & PROUST (Marcel). Reading Days. [Paris], Le Livre contemporain & Les Bibliophiles franco-suisses, 1969. 1 folio volume, in folio format, with a cover illustrated with original etchings, in a grey slipcase with the title on the spine. First separate edition of this text in which Proust contrasts his ideas on reading with those of Ruskin. Printed in a run of 180 copies on Rives grand vélin paper; this is one of the 150 numbered copies reserved for members. Illustrated with 27 original etchings by the painter and engraver Pierre LESIEUR (1922–2011), including 2 on the cover, 11 full-page plates and 14 within the text. Enclosed is the menu for the dinner held at the Nouveau Cercle on 21 October 1969, illustrated with two etchings by Pierre Lesieur. Discolouration to the slipcase and small tears at the ends of the spine.
