Description
LURÇAT (Jean) & FABRE (Jean-Henri). The Wonderful World of Insects, seven plates taken from *Souvenirs entomologiques*. Original lithographs by Jean Lurçat. Paris, Les Cent-Une, 1950. In-4, in folio, printed and pasted cover, in an illustrated slipcase and jacket; separate illustrated slipcase with flaps and laces for the sequel. The volume is illustrated with 45 original colour lithographs by Jean Lurçat, three of which are hand-coloured by the artist. Printed in an edition of 145 copies on large Arches vellum, one of the 101 reserved for members; this copy is signed by the President and Vice-President of Les Cent-Une. This copy is enhanced with one of the 26 suites on unbleached Chinese paper, as well as a small gouache drawing measuring 6.8 x 12.4 cm. Some wear and discolouration on the covers and the slipcase.
