MASSON (André) & MALLARMÉ (Stéphane). *A Roll of the Dice Will Never Abolish Chance*. Paris, Les Amateurs du Livre et de l'Estampe modernes, 1961. Folio in folio-sized sheets, colour-illustrated cover with gilded edges, in a cardboard slipcase and box with the publisher’s white-painted decoration. The work is entirely lithographed in colour by André Masson, with Mallarmé’s text integrated into the compositions. A print run of 77 numbered copies on Arches laid paper plus 25 copies for contributors; no. 30 for Mrs Germain Belchmann, signed by André Masson, the publisher Félia Léal and the president of the Society, Mr Génon. Minor scuffs on the dust jacket and slipcase; endpapers slightly discoloured, otherwise a fine copy.
