The illustrations comprise 8 woodcuts within the text (including the title vignette), 8 full-page stencil-enhanced stained-glass designs, and 8 etched plates outside the text, including a portrait of the artist, the Symbolist painter from Nantes, Edgard Maxence (1871–1954). Printed in a run of 501 copies; no. 15 of 50 on Japanese paper, with a set of out-of-text plates printed ahead of the main text.
