UTRILLO (Maurice) & CARCO (Francis). Montmartre as experienced by Utrillo. [Paris], Pétridès, 1947. Large quarto, in folio format, illustrated cover, with illustrated slipcase and dust jacket from the publisher. First illustrated edition featuring 22 colour lithographs based on gouaches by Maurice Utrillo, including 12 full-page plates. Cover, slipcase and case illustrated from a sketch by Utrillo. Printed in a run of 240 copies on Arches vellum (copy no. 224). Some scuffing on the slipcase, foxing mainly in the margins, and slight fading on the text in places; otherwise a fine copy of this volume published to accompany the exhibition dedicated to Utrillo at the Pétridès Gallery in 1947. An invitation to the exhibition’s opening is included.
