Description
BEN (Benjamin VAUTIER, known as). Manifesto of Total Art. Paris, Jannink, 1997. In-8 (21 x 12.5 cm), paperback, 48 pp., printed and lined dust jacket, slipcase. First standalone edition, copy no. 38 of the limited print run of 275 copies + 15 artist’s copies, accompanied by an ORIGINAL SILK-SCREEN PRINT signed and numbered by the author. Volume no. 29 of the ‘L’art en écrit’ collection. A leading figure of the artistic avant-garde and a public agitator, Ben (1935–2024) was a staunch defender of the Fluxus movement. The Manifesto of Total Art is one of the chapters in *Esthétiques*, published by Ben in 1965. In 1970, it was included in *Écrits pour la gloire* as a result of going round in circles and being jealous.
