First edition, a copy from the limited first print run of 295 copies + 15 artist’s proofs, accompanied by an ORIGINAL FOLD-OUT WORK, numbered in the artist’s own hand (no. 163) and mounted on the back cover of the dust jacket. Volume no. 42 of the ‘L’art en écrit’ collection. Very slight dent on the front cover of the dust jacket. Born in 1938, Daniel Buren is a leading figure on the international art scene. A visual artist and theorist, he is famous for his striped works. Here he presents a previously unpublished text on his friend Robert Ryman.
