STÄMPFLI (Peter). Pneupneupneupneupneupneupneu. Paris, Jannink, 1998. In-8 (21 x 12.5 cm), paperback, 48 pp., printed and mounted cover, slipcase. First edition, copy no. 103 of the limited edition of 295 copies + 15 artist’s copies, accompanied by an ORIGINAL COMPOSITION on Rhodoid and paper, signed by the author. Volume no. 34 of the ‘L’art en écrit’ collection. Slipcase partially detached. Swiss painter Peter Stämpfli (1937–2026) devoted himself to the theme of the automobile, which he explored and fragmented to the point of making the tyre a central motif rendered in a multitude of ways. His works have been acquired by numerous public collections, including the MoMA in New York, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and the Kunstmuseum in Zurich.
