GENGA (Bernardino). ‎Anatomy for the purpose of drawing and understanding, based not only on the bones and muscles of the human body... prepared on cadavers by Dr Bernardino Genga, Royal Anatomist, with explanations and an index by Canon Gio. ‎Rome, Domenico de Rossi, 1691. Large folio comprising 56 numbered leaves, brown calfskin (contemporary binding) Complete first edition with all 40 engraved plates. Garrison no. 86: ‘This book was the best of its time, in fact one of the finest of all books on anatomy for artists’. Binding damaged, traces of water damage on the plates.
