MARIONNEAU (Charles). Brascassat. His Life and Work. With a portrait engraved by Bertinot and facsimiles of a drawing and an autograph. Paris, Veuve Jules Renouard, 1872. In-8, XIV-419 pp., with a frontispiece portrait in a scroll frame, and 2 plates (a facsimile of an autograph and a reproduction of a drawing on a tinted background), green half-maroquin, richly decorated ribbed spine, gilt fillet on the covers, gilt head (Monneret). Ribs slightly rubbed, but a fine copy. A rare monograph on the Bordeaux painter Jacques-Raymond Brascassat (1804–1867), a pupil of Théodore Richard, who specialised early on in the depiction of animals.
