LOBRICHON, and Mrs Marie GRANDMOUGIN. Subscriber’s edition. Paris, Alphonse Lemerre, 1889. In-8, paperback, printed cover with inlay. 6 lithographed plates as inserts. A few faint water stains and minor foxing. First edition printed in a run of 275 copies; no. 92 of the 200 on Holland paper. A fine copy, enhanced by an amusing little autograph poem signed by the author and dated 10 September 1889: “If you can find me a few good subscribers – / even if they are few in number, / – or just one, as slender as a shadow, / who ranks amongst my readers, / Once again my heart cries out: / ‘By Mohammed! we can rely, / for all that our art demands, / on Truffier!”
