Description
[Advertisement]. Set of nine advertising documents, including eight blotting papers. [1950s & 1960s].
8 blotting papers and one leaflet, measuring 18.2 to 21.6 x 8.5 to 14.8 cm.
The eight blotting pads feature an illustrated advert on one side; the reverse is blank.
Six of the blotting pads are for brands of stockings and socks, including three different ones for ‘Bomo’, one for ‘DD’, one for ‘Horse Guard Derbyfix’ (Troyes) and one for ‘Stemm’. The other two blotting pads advertise “Tom, the first shop specialising in young people’s clothing” and “Destre Cherpin” cotton flannel shirts.
The ninth document is a 1930s advertisement for elegant clothing by “Vaxelaire” in Nancy. The black-and-gold illustration is signed by Robert Cadoré. The reverse side features four other small advertisements for various businesses in Nancy.
