BONNARD (Pierre) & VOLLARD (Ambroise). Saint Monica. Paris, Ambroise Vollard, 1930. Large quarto in folio format, illustrated cover with inlay, in slipcase and case. Cover hinge severed, front cover partially detached. Pierre Bonnard’s illustrations comprise 29 drawings transferred to stone, 17 original etchings (including 3 used as plates for the supplementary plates) and 178 compositions drawn on wood by the painter. Printed in an edition of 340 copies (+35 hors-commerce); no. 207 of 257 on Arches vellum. Unfortunately, this copy is incomplete, lacking the supplementary plates (i.e. the 29 lithographs and 17 original etchings) as well as the first two unused woodcut sheets.
