Description
SCOTTO (Vincent). Memories of Paris. Toulouse, S.T.A.E.L., 1947. In-8, brown chagrin half-cloth with corner pieces. This copy is enhanced by an author’s signed proof (E.A.S.) featuring a handwritten musical score and a handwritten letter on the author’s letterhead (though signed by another hand; signature unidentified). The composer Vincent Scotto (1874–1952) wrote many famous pieces in the French repertoire: *La Petite Tonkinoise*, *Prosper (Youp la boum)*, *J’ai deux amours*, *Marinella*, *Le plus beau tango du monde* and *Sous les ponts de Paris*. He is credited with four thousand songs, sixty operettas and numerous film scores, including those for his friend Marcel Pagnol.
