CHINA, early 20th century. Twenty-four pieces from a blue-and-white porcelain tea service, decorated with fish and floral motifs, bearing apocryphal Kangxi marks on the bases, comprising:
Twelve handled cups (slight chipping on the rims, one handle broken); ten multi-lobed saucers (six with slight chipping, one with a crack); two small plates.
(Not all pieces are perfectly identical)
Cups: H. H. 5.3 cm – D. 7.8 cm to 8 cm
Saucers’ diam.: 13 cm to 13.3 cm
Plate diameter: 28 cm.
Provenance: Passed down through the generations from a family of chemists from the Besançon region, who lived in Shanghai and then in Indochina between the 1920s and 1940s.
