A French violin made by Pierre GAGGINI (1903–2006), bearing his original label: ‘Petrus GAGGINI, Nicae Vivitas Anno 1960’. Branded ‘P.GAGGINI-NICE’ on the inside of the top, at the lower nut. Hand-numbered 225 on the top; back made of two pieces of flamed maple. Spruce top. Orange-brown varnish; 357 mm. With certificate of origin from Pierre GAGGINI in Nice (28 July 1962). With case and German student’s bow bearing the PAESOLD brand mark. Condition: minor wear on the back of the top; modern case defective.
