Pierre-Henry FAVIER (active in Paris 1846–1871): 950 mil silver candlestick converted into a lamp, decorated with repoussé acanthus leaves and twisted gadroons; the shaft is fluted. Minerva hallmark and maker’s mark (FAVIER, a cruet and two grains of medicine below and above). Height: 34 cm. Gross weight: 1071.9 g. Minor distortions, knocks. [The FAVIER family were a dynasty of Lyon-based silversmiths specialising in religious silverware. Pierre-Henry was the first to establish himself in Paris following the acquisition of J.B. GARNIER’s Parisian workshop.]
