It was published as an ‘Extra supplement to the Illustrated London News, 19 August 1876’. A large bird’s-eye view of New York City from the west, with New Jersey in the foreground, Manhattan in the centre, and Brooklyn and Long Island in the background. It shows the island of Manhattan, from Battery Park to Central Park, maritime traffic on the Hudson and the East River, and the recently completed piers of the Brooklyn Bridge. Crease marks with tiny holes at the central fold. Traces of adhesive on the reverse. Good overall condition.
