Description
OCTOBON, François Charles Ernest. “Nice has never been Italian”. A treatise on the County of Nice by Commander Octobon. October 1940. 1 vol. in-8. 79 pp. Black half-cloth, marbled paper covers, title label.
Historical typescript concerning the question of Nice’s nationality. This does not appear to be a copy, as no trace of this text has been found.
François Charles Ernest Octobon, born in Menton on 5 October 1881 and died in the same town on 20 October 1969, was a French archaeologist and prehistorian. His publications (over two hundred), his international papers and his lectures (nearly two hundred and fifty, according to Louis Cappatti, a historian from Nice) are too numerous to count.
