Description
ALEXANDER CALDER (1898–1976)
Erskine Caldwell, *The Sacrilege of Alan Kent*, original etchings by Alexander Calder, Maeght, Paris 1976
Three original etchings by Alexander Calder, on hand-prepared paper, all signed and numbered 30/60. These etchings form part of a series of twenty etchings printed in an edition of 60 copies as a supplementary series to a main edition of twenty etchings, printed in an edition of 200 numbered copies on Rives vellum, and published in a folio alongside Caldwell’s text (100 copies bearing odd numbers in the English version and 100 copies bearing even numbers in the French version). These were the last prints produced by Calder, as he died a few days before the edition was published.
