History of the Knights of the Order of St John of Jerusalem: containing their admirable Foundation and Constitution; the Sequence of the Wars in the Holy Land (...)
Previously written by S.D.B.S.D.L., together with a translation of the regulations and statutes of the Order by I. de Baudoin. The work is enriched with a large number of intaglio engravings (...) and other notable treatises by F.A. de Naberat.
Paris: published by Michel Soly, Pierre Byllaine and Gervais Allyot at the Palais – 1629. Folio with wide margins (43x28cm). Half sheepskin, smooth spine, very simple later binding, probably from the 19th century.
Generally in good condition internally, a few pinholes and stains, water-stain at the corner of the upper cap, a few leaves restored. A few leaves damaged at the margins, a few leaves out of place. [the last leaf, for example]
Handwritten ex-dono inscription ‘Du Moulinet’ and ‘pber semin. saguiensis ex dono dui De Villiers Bélier’ on the printed title page, framing the publisher’s mark.
