BELLOVAQUES Beauvais region 1st century BC Helmeted head on the right, imitated from Rome. In front, triskel centred by a ringlet. In front of the mouth, a lyre. R/. Cock right, belly formed by a bearded human head. Ringlets in the field. In front of the head, a solid rectangle in relief. Beaded motif around the edge. ♦ DT 516; Scheers 469 Bronze "with rooster". Hallencourt type, derived from the Bracquemont cockerel (2.67 g). Very rare. Light green patina. Very nice. JRC Collection
