Bronze medal by Veyrat 1872 (38.73 g; Ø 48.68 mm) Smooth edge.
Two medals (silver and bronze).
Rare. Superb.
These two medals evoke the troubles that took place in Antwerp in February 1872 during the Comte de Chambord's stay in this great commercial metropolis. Viscount Charles Terlinden described the events in an article published in 1922 in the Revue Belge de Philologie et d'Histoire, pages 45-51, entitled "Le Comte de Chambord à Anvers (février 1872)". After the fall of the Empire in 1870, the Legitimists tried to impose the Restoration of the Bourbons to the throne of France. This failed because Henri categorically refused to fly the tricolour, preferring the white flag with the fleur-de-lys.
