Gold medal presented to the painter Vafflard by the Emperor at the Salon of Year XIII.
Engraver: Andrieu (1763–1822).
Laureate head of Napoleon facing right.
Reverse: Engraved inscription in six lines (attributed) within a laurel wreath.
Weight: 66.50 g
Pierre Antoine Augustin Vafflard (1777–1838), a pupil of Regnault, made his debut at the 1800 Salon and painted subjects from the life of Napoleon.
Bumps and slight scratches. A very fine specimen.
