Description
ANCIENT GREECE - GREEK Bruttium, the Bruttians. ND drachma (216–214 BC), Locri or Crotone. Obverse: Winged bust of Nike facing right; a symbol in the background. Reverse: BPETTIΩN. The river god Aisaros standing facing forward, holding a spear in his left hand and his right hand on his crowned head; monogram on the right. HGC 1, 1356 – HN Italy 1961; Silver – 4.7 g – 20 mm – 6 h With a small bird on the obverse and probably a Σ on the reverse. Slightly off-centre. With an old patina, golden on the obverse and anthracite on the reverse. Almost Superb.
