ANCIENT GREECE - GREEK Macedonia (Kingdom of), Philip II (359–336 BC). 1/4 stater ND (345–328 BC), Pella. Obverse: Head of Heracles facing right, wearing the lion’s skin. Reverse: ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ. Legend beneath a club and a bow, with a trident to the right below. HGC 3.1, 851 – Le Rider 81; Gold – 2.14 g – 11 mm – 2 h Acquired from Elsen in 2008. Featuring a fine bust on the obverse and a complete reverse, very well centred on the flan. Slight golden patina. Superb, mint condition.
