Thrace, Abdera. Drachma in the name of the magistrate Herophanes ND (388–387 BC), Abdera.
Obverse: Griffin on the left.
Reverse: EΠI – HPO – ΦAN EOΣ. Central square featuring the head of Hermes wearing a petasos on the left, with a kerykeion (caduceus) in front.
HGC 3.2, 1214; Silver – 2.86 g – 14.5 mm – 5 h

With the griffin and reverse almost complete. Slight grey patina with golden highlights. Superb.
