ANCIENT GREECE - GREEK Cyclades (islands of), Paros. 1/12th of a stater, ND (c. 530–515 BC), Paros. Obverse: A goat on the right, kneeling on its forelegs, the right foreleg bent, within an outer grenetis. Reverse: A four-part hollow square with mill-wings. HGC 6, - (cf. 647, stater) - SNG Delepierre - (cf. 2445, stater); Silver - 1 g - 9 mm - 12 h From the Hirsch 178 auction, 12 May 1993, lot 160. Featuring a goat with its head turned to the right. On an irregular blank, but with a fine strike. Beautiful old patina. Superb.
