Description
ANCIENT GREECE - GREEK Lycia, satrap unknown. Tetrobolos or hemidrachma ND (500–440 BC). Obverse: Protome of a wild boar on the left. Reverse: Triskele within a hollow square with grenetis. SNG Von Aulock – (cf. 4059, stater) – SNG Cop – (cf. 10, stater); Silver – 2.52 g – 13 mm – 12 h Whilst the stater of this type is well known, the tetrabole appears to be very rare. Well centred, with minimal wear and a slight grey patina. TTB to Superb.
