Phoenicia, Tyre. Didrachma or 1/2 shekel, Year 51 = 76–75 BC, Tyre.
Obverse: Bust of Heracles-Melqart facing right, wearing a laurel wreath.
Reverse: TYPOY IEYAΣ - KAI AΣYΛOY. Standing eagle facing left, on a ship’s prow, with a palm frond behind the right wing. In the left field, (date) and a club; in the right field, a control letter.
HGC 10, 358; Silver – 7.18 g – 23 mm – 12 h

With a Δ on the reverse as a control letter. Large flan with the full rebranding on the obverse. The strike is slightly off-centre on the reverse. Slight grey patina. Superb.
